When someone searches for a business near them, Google often shows a map with a few businesses listed. Each one has a Google Business Profile. It is free, and it is one of the fastest ways to be found by customers nearby.
What your profile shows
- Your business name, category, and location on the map
- Your hours, phone number, and website
- Photos and customer reviews
- Buttons to call you or get directions
How to set it up
1. Search for your business on Google Maps. Someone may have already added it. If it appears, you can claim it. If not, you can add it.
2. Sign in with a Google account you will keep. Ideally one used only for your business.
3. Enter your details carefully. Use your business name exactly as customers know it. Choose the category that matches your main service. Add your address, phone number, hours, and website.
4. Verify your business. Google needs to confirm that you run it. It may ask for a phone call, a text, an email, a short video of your location, or a postcard. Follow the steps it shows you.
5. Add good photos. Your storefront, your products or work, and the inside of your shop.
Keep it working for you
- Update your hours for holidays.
- Ask happy customers to leave a review.
- Reply to every review, politely.
- Link it to your website so people can see your full services and prices.
Your profile and your website work as a pair
Your profile helps people find you on the map. Your website gives them the full picture and the reason to choose you. Together, they turn a search into a customer.
Google Business Profile setup is included in our Growth Package.
