A website should earn its place in your business. The good news is that you do not need complicated tools to see whether it does. A few simple habits will tell you.
Ask every new customer one question
"How did you find us?" It costs nothing and tells you a lot. When customers start saying "I saw your website" or "I found you on Google," your website is doing its job.
Notice what your messages look like
A working website changes your inquiries. Fewer people ask "how much?" and disappear. More people arrive already knowing your prices and ready to book or buy.
Count the repeated questions
If you answer fewer of the same questions every week, your website is answering them for you. That is time back in your day.
Check your Google Business Profile
Your free Google Business Profile shows how many people found you, called you, asked for directions, or visited your website from Google. Look at it once a month and watch the trend.
Watch the calls and form messages
Keep a simple tally of calls and form messages that mention your website. A notebook works fine. Over a few months, the pattern becomes clear.
If the signs are weak
Check the basics first:
- Can a visitor see what you offer and where you are within a few seconds?
- Are your prices and hours up to date?
- Is the call or message button easy to tap on a phone?
- Is your website linked from your Google Business Profile and your social media page?
Most underperforming websites fail on one of these. Fix them, and give it a few weeks.
